Obama reads round two of ‘mean tweets’ on ‘Kimmel’

President Obama will appear on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” late Monday night, reading a second batch of “mean tweets” about himself.

“Barack Obama…bro, do you even lift?” he read. “Well, I lifted the ban on Cuban cigars. That’s worth something.”

Kimmel’s beloved “mean tweets” sketch features celebrities reading insulting messages from their Twitter trolls.

Obama first participated in the popular segment in March 2015, reading demeaning posts on everything from his hair to his golf game.

“Is there any way we could fly Obama to some golf course halfway around the world and just leave him there?” Obama read during his visit, before adding he thought it was a “great idea.”

Kimmel said in an interview last month Obama was initially underwhelmed by the online vitriol during his first bout of “mean tweets.”

“Obama doing them was obviously a great thing,” he told The Hollywood Reporter on Sept. 14. “And it’s funny because when he came in and did them — you know, obviously he has people and they were concerned. I mean, mean tweets could potentially go sideways.

“So they went through and they cherry-picked the ‘mean tweets’ that they thought would be appropriate for the president,” Kimmel added. “And he sat down and he just starts looking at them and he goes, ‘You guys, you missed a lot of … These are not mean enough.’

“And I’m sitting there, giving the stink eye to his people because we wanted him to read the really mean ones, and he doesn’t understand why he’s not reading the mean ones and nobody wins.”

Kimmel also revealed during September’s interview that both Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump have declined to read their “mean tweets” on his show.

Obama’s initial performance remains one of the most popular “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” segments online, with more than 46 million views since its original airdate.

Comedian Joel McHale was booked for Monday’s show but was bumped because Obama’s Secret Service agents needed his dressing room, according to the show. 

In his monologue, Kimmel joked about the security measure necessary to host the president.

“The Secret Service was very thorough this afternoon,” he said. “I got my office swept and my prostate checked. And guess what? ObamaCare covered the whole thing.”
