Several lawmakers are among the tens of thousands runners participating in Monday’s Boston Marathon.

{mosads}Massachusetts Democratic Reps. Joe Kennedy and Stephen Lynch and Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) will all be lacing up for Monday’s 26.2-mile run, according to USA Today. This year’s marathon marks a year since bombings at the course killed three victims and injured hundreds of people.

Sinema, who has run nine marathons and participated in a physically grueling Ironman triathlon, will be running on a team honoring the youngest victim of last year’s attack, Martin Richard. Both Kennedy and Lynch will also be raising money for charities set up to assist those affected by the 2013 bombings.

“Boston is the holy grail, but you kind of have to be really fast,” Sinema told the paper. “I’m an average runner. I have a lot of endurance but not a lot of speed.”

The 37-year-old congresswoman says she often gets emotional toward the end of marathons. “This marathon we’ll be running for people who can’t run anymore,” she said. “I feel grateful I have the opportunity. It’s a real privilege.”

Kennedy wished his colleagues in Congress luck ahead of the race, writing on Twitter:
