Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Tuesday unveiled a tattoo of the late British Prime Minister Winston Churchill on his arm.
On Fox News’s “Fox and Friends,” host Steve Doocy asked if Cruz could confirm a rumor he had heard about the senator getting a tattoo.
“Well, I will say I was out in California a couple of weeks ago and there was some street art that was a little unusual,” Cruz said. “It inspired me.”
{mosads}A photo of the street art showed a drawing of Cruz on a poster that displayed the senator’s body covered in tattoos.
“I’m proud to stand with Winston Churchill. And I’ve got to say my wife was fairly astonished,” Cruz said as he rolled up his sleeve and revealed the tattoo.
Asked if it was a real tattoo or henna, Cruz said, “If you look at the calendar, it might suggest something about what you’re seeing.”
