Creed frontman Scott Stapp will portray legendary singer Frank Sinatra in the upcoming biopic “Reagan,” Billboard reports.
Stapp will star in a scene that features the Cocoanut Grove, an iconic Los Angeles club, during a period of time when former President Ronald Reagan was president of the Screen Actors Guild.
The nightclub was located in the Ambassador Hotel complex, a hotspot for American presidents for decades, and was the scene of Robert F. Kennedy’s assassination, the New York Times writes.
Actor Dennis Quaid stars as the 40th president in the Sean McNamara-directed film slated to be released in 2021, according to Deadline.
Stapp joins a cast that consists of Quaid, Penelope Ann Miller (Nancy Reagan), Mena Suvari (Reagan’s first wife, actress Jane Wyman), Kevin Dillon (Jack Warner) and Jon Voight (a KGB agent tasked with following the former president’s every move for years).
