The Duchess of Sussex, the former actress born Meghan Markle, will launch a new podcast as part of a creative partnership with Lemonada Media, the podcast company announced Tuesday.
Lemonada Media will also rerelease the first season of Meghan’s popular former “Archetypes” podcast, which will be available on all audio platforms, according to the company.
The deal comes after Spotify’s exclusive podcast deal with Archewell Productions, the production company started by Meghan and Prince Harry, fell apart. The company produced only one show — “Archetypes” — as part of the multimillion-dollar agreement.
Lemonada Media in a small podcast distributor but is home to some high-profile successful series, including Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s “Wiser Than Me,” which was named the 2023 Show of the Year by Apple Podcasts, according to the podcast company.
Lemonada Media confirmed the partnership in a post on X, formerly Twitter, which included a link to an exclusive Deadline report.
In a statement reported by Deadline, Meghan said, “I’m proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting.”
“Being able to support a female founded company with a roster of thought provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024. Our plan to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast are well in the works. I’m so eager to be able to share it soon, and am overjoyed to be joining the Lemonada family,” she continued.
