Japanese Embassy says Taylor Swift should ‘comfortably’ make Super Bowl via Tokyo flight

The Japanese Embassy in Washington sought Friday to alleviate concerns that pop super star Taylor Swift, who is dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, will be able to make to the Feb. 11 Super Bowl amid her concert tour.

“Despite the 12-hour flight and 17-hour time difference, the Embassy can confidently Speak Now to say that if she departs Tokyo in the evening after her concert, she should comfortably arrive in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl begins,” the embassy said in a statement posted to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Kelce’s team secured its ticket to the Super Bowl last week in a win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Swift has been a regular presence at his games, with NFL cameras often finding her cheering in a skybox.

“We know that many people in Japan are excited to experience Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, so we wanted to confirm that anyone concerned can be Fearless in knowing that this talented performer can wow Japanese audiences and still make it to Las Vegas to support the Chiefs when they take the field for the Super Bowl wearing Red,” the embassy’s statement continued.

The conservative side of social media has been flooded with conspiracy theories about Swift, accusing the NFL of fixing games in favor of the Chiefs so she and Kelce can make it to the Super Bowl and eventually endorse President Biden’s reelection campaign.

“I wonder who’s going to win the Super Bowl next month,” former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy wrote Monday on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“And I wonder if there’s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped-up couple this fall. Just some wild speculation over here, let’s see how it ages over the next 8 months,” Ramaswamy continued.

CNN anchor Jake Tapper mocked conspiracy theories about Swift, the NFL and the Democratic Party on his show “The Lead.”

“Far-right conspiracy theorists certainly don’t seem to be following Taylor Swift’s advice to just ‘Shake It Off,’” Tapper said Tuesday.
