Fran Drescher says Meryl Streep is suggesting the former “The Nanny” star go from president of SAG-AFTRA to president of the United States.

Drescher took a starring role during the four-month long strike by the actors union, which ended this week.

“Meryl Streep said to me, ‘This is great, now go run for president,’” Drescher told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Thursday.

SAG-AFTRA and the studios reached a tentative deal Wednesday that included pay raises for members and protections against artificial intelligence.

Despite the political push by the Academy Award winner Streep, the 66-year-old Drescher expressed no interest in a White House bid.

“I don’t want that job. Oh boy,” she said.

Although she might not want a desk in the Oval Office, Drescher wasn’t completely against dipping her toes in the political waters in the past. When ITK asked her in 2013 — while she was lobbying on Capitol Hill for safer cosmetic products — whether she had any future political plans, the performer responded, “I think it’s on the horizon.”
