Elizabeth Warren announces name of new puppy

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) announced the name of her new puppy in a tweet on Saturday.

Warren said that she and her husband named the dog Bailey, after George Bailey in the classic film “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

“Friends, meet Bailey. We named him after George Bailey, the community banker in It’s a Wonderful Life — a guy who was decent, determined & saw the best in people,” she wrote. “I always thought the role of GB was written for a Golden Retriever, but Jimmy Stewart did a nice job with it.”

{mosads}Warren announced last week that she received the dog as a surprise gift from her husband, Bruce Mann.

“There’s a lot of pain and chaos in the world right now — we decided to bring a little gentleness and normalcy into our lives,” Warren tweeted at the time.
