Like Kennedy, many people say they hear the name “Laurel” in the soundbite, while others say they hear “Yanny.” The viral phenomenon is similar to a 2015 photo of a dress that some people said was blue and black while others saw as white and gold.
“Handsome and intelligent,” Cuomo responded, as he and Camerota both noted they hear the word “Laurel.”
“Can I reconsider?” Kennedy joked once hearing that he agreed with Cuomo, adding that it is “creepy” that some people hear a different word.

The senator and “New Day” hosts exchanged friendly jabs over the clip.
“It’s kind of like when I say something’s a fact and you say it’s fake,” Cuomo joked. “Maybe it’s just a hearing issue we have.”
“That’s pretty cool,” Kennedy said. “I can’t believe I agree with Cuomo.”
