Mark Wahlberg paid $1.5M for film reshoot that earned Michelle Williams $1,000: report

Mark Wahlberg was paid $1.5 million for reshooting his scenes in the movie “All the Money in the World,” while his female co-star, Michelle Williams, earned less than $1,000 for the additional work, USA Today reported Tuesday.

The film had to be largely reshot after director Ridley Scott cut Kevin Spacey out of the film following sexual misconduct allegations leveled against the actor late last year. Spacey was replaced with actor Christopher Plummer, who filmed his scenes in time for the movie to be released last month.

While Scott previously told USA Today that only Plummer was paid for the additional filming, USA Today reported that Wahlberg’s team negotiated a deal for the actor to receive $1.5 million for his reshoots.

Williams wasn’t told about the deal, and as a result only received an $80 per diem totaling less than $1,000, according to USA Today.

Williams and Wahlberg are represented by the same agency, which did not respond to USA Today’s requests for comment.

Williams was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in the film. 

Nearly everyone in attendance at the Golden Globes on Sunday wore black in a show of solidarity against the culture of sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry.

Hollywood took center stage last year as women and men came forward to accuse Spacey, Harvey Weinstein, Dustin Hoffman and others of sexual misconduct.

Williams brought Tarana Burke, the founder of the “Me Too” movement, as her guest to the awards show.
