LeBron slams Trump’s travel ban

NBA star LeBron James slammed President Trump’s executive order barring nationals from seven predominantly Muslim countries entering the United States.

“I am not in favor of this policy or any policy that divides and excludes people,” James said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“I stand with the many, many Americans who believe this does not represent what the United States is all about. And we should continue to speak out about it.”

{mosads}Trump on Jan. 27 signed an executive order imposing a 90-day ban on nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries entering the United States. The order also placed a 120-day halt on admitting refugees and an indefinite halt on admitting refugees from war-torn Syria.

“Diversity is what makes this country so great,” the Cleveland Cavaliers player said.

“We should all continue to speak up and fight for ideas that bring people together regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religious beliefs or any other differences.”

A federal judge temporarily halted the ban by issuing a nationwide restraining order. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral arguments on Tuesday and is expected to soon make a decision on whether or not to reinstate the original executive order.
