‘Americans’ spies set to visit White House

A pair of Russian spies plan to attend a White House state dinner on Tuesday — not real spies, but the people who play them on TV.

{mosads}Actors Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell, who portray a husband/wife couple of deep-cover KGB operatives on the FX Cold War drama “The Americans,” will attend the state dinner in honor of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

The co-stars have developed a romantic relationship off-screen and are expecting a baby together.

Obama’s 12th state dinner is expected to be one of the last of his presidency; outside of Rhys and Russell, the guest list lacks the usual star power from the worlds of sports and entertainment.

But a number of corporate titans, as well as family and longtime friends of Obama and Vice President Biden, will attend the event.

The chief executives of AOL, Sam’s Club, Walgreens, Caterpillar, Visa and Care.com all will be there.

Obama’s official visit with Lee was in large part meant to promote the pending Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, which the business community largely supports.

Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.), who backs the president’s trade agenda, will also be in attendance.

But a handful of other Democratic lawmakers who bucked the president on trade, including Sens. Bob Casey (Pa.) and Ed Markey (Mass.) and Reps. Denny Heck (Wash.) and Pete Welch (Vt.) also received an invite.

Craig Robinson, the brother of first lady Michelle Obama, and his wife, Kelly, will be at the dinner, as will the president’s college friend Laurent Delanney.

Biden’s brother, Frank, and his granddaughter, Finnegan, will also attend.
