Malia Obama is one of the most influential teenagers in the country, according to Time magazine, but her younger sister, Sasha, failed to make the cut this year.
{mosads}While both of President and Michelle Obama’s daughters were featured on Time’s 2014 list of “Most Influential Teens,” this time around, 17-year-old Malia appears solo.
“The older First Daughter is now a full-fledged cultural icon,” the magazine says in the list released Tuesday. The teen’s “fashion choices and college visits (most recently, to Brown University) routinely make headlines.”
Malia also appeared on the 2013 edition of the annual list sans her sister.
In last year’s issue, Time declared that Sasha, 14, had “become an icon in her own right: after being photographed in a unicorn sweatshirt, the style sold out at ASOS in days.”
Among the other teens to earn a spot on the 2015 list: “Clock kid” Ahmed Mohamed, who scored an invite to the White House after being arrested when authorities mistook his homemade clock for a bomb; Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s son, actor Jaden Smith; girls’ education advocate and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai; and “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” stars Kylie and Kendall Jenner.
