Ventura open to running with Sanders

Jesse Ventura says he’d consider being Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) running mate.

The former pro wrestler-turned-independent Minnesota governor tells the New York Daily News, “Would I run with Bernie? Sure, I’d give him consideration.”

{mosads}The “American Conspiracies” author told the paper that Sanders, who is challenging Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton from the left, is the most likely of the White House hopefuls to bring American troops back from the Middle East.

But Sanders isn’t the only 2016 contender alongside whom Ventura would be open to running. Calling GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump his pal of more than two decades, Ventura said, “I respect him enough that if he did ask me, I’d give it consideration out of respect for him as a person and a friend.”

But Ventura, 64, noted he “vehemently” opposes Trump’s proposed immigration policy.

If Trump wants to “make a trade,” Ventura, who moved to Mexico ten years ago, says, “I’ll make a trade off.”

“I’d build a wall on the Mexican border. But in order to not make it racist, you’d have to build one on the Canadian border too. If you want to make the country like East Berlin, Let’s make it East Berlin.”

Ventura had previously floated being No. 2 on a Trump ticket, telling Roger Stone on “Off the Grid” last month that he hopes the billionaire wins the GOP nomination.

“These insiders to our government, you’re right Roger, Trump has scared the hell out of them, because as you said, they can’t control him,” Ventura said.
