E! Channel star to hit DC streets
Lawmakers, and other Washingtonians, might want to brush up on their D.C. smarts: Ross Mathews is headed to the nation’s capital, and he’s coming equipped with trivia questions.
ITK hears the E! channel personality, who got his start as an intern on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” will make impromptu appearances around Washington on Oct. 18 — likely with cameras in tow — to test the public’s knowledge with questions on D.C. and pop culture.{mosads}
The man-on-the-street pop quizzes, part of a $5 million Capital One initiative to support comedy programs, will happen a day before Leno is poised to be awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center.
Mathews is expected to venture onto the National Mall at 9:30 a.m. on the 18th, then head to Georgetown around 1:30 p.m., before making a final stop at the Verizon Center in the early evening.
