A fight involving Sarah Palin and her family, which one witness likened to a brawl on “The Jerry Springer Show,” reportedly broke out during a party last weekend in Anchorage, Alaska.
According to an eyewitness quoted by ABC News, the former GOP vice presidential candidate’s daughter, Bristol, was eyed striking a man at the birthday festivities.
{mosads}“She was punching him [another man] in the face like six times; it was an assault if I’ve ever seen one,” Eric Thompson told ABC in a story published Friday. “It wasn’t a light punch either. She was really hitting him.”
Alaska political blogger Amanda Coyne reported that Thompson claims after “Happy Birthday” was sung by guests at the shindig, “things started going horribly wrong.”
“Multiple accounts say that it started when Track confronted Willow’s former boyfriend,” Coyne wrote of the former governor’s children. The Palins were reportedly asked to leave the bash.
“I heard Sarah Palin yell, ‘Do you know who I am?’ All of us could not believe it. We thought we were watching an episode of ‘Jerry Springer,’” Thompson, the alleged eyewitness, told ABC News.
Another melee allegedly ensued. According to Coyne’s story, “This time Sarah got involved and began to scream profanities at everyone. One source, who didn’t want to be named, said that she was ‘nearly crawling on top of people,’ trying to get into the scrum.”
Alaska authorities reportedly confirmed they responded to a call about a fight involving multiple people and that some of the Palin family was in attendance. The parties involved declined to press charges.
