Organizing for Action donors will have a chance to sing along backstage with James Taylor at an outdoor concert in Chicago next month, according to an email the singer sent out to supporters Friday.
Any donation given to support OFA before midnight enters donors in a drawing for a free flight to Chicago and VIP treatment at the concert.
{mosads}Organizing for Action is a Democratic group that grew out of President Obama’s reelection campaign.
“You’ve worked hard this year — the organizing you did to help 8 million Americans get enrolled with health insurance is no small feat,” Taylor wrote. “And I’ve seen you take on the members of Congress who still live in denial about climate change.“
The reelection campaign used similar contests in 2012 to encourage people to give.
The group is now under some scrutiny from fellow Democrats, though, amid fears it is drawing money away from midterms campaigns.
