Senate sends Obama electronic duck stamp bill

The Senate passed a bill Monday allowing for the sale of electronic duck stamps.

H.R. 1206, Permanent Electronic Duck Stamp Act, authorizes the Secretary of the Interior permanent authority to allow any state to issue electronic duck stamps. 

The Senate passed the bill through a unanimous consent agreement and the House passed it in June. The bill now heads to President Obama’s desk for his signature before becoming law.

{mosads}The Senate passed several other measures on Monday. The upper chamber is trying to tie up loose ends before adjourning for the year. A list of bill passed through unanimous consent follows:

H.R. 5816, extends the authorization for the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom. The House passed the bill in September, meaning it now heads to the president’s desk.

H.R. 3572, revises the boundaries of the following units within the John H. Chafee Coastal Barrier Resources System. The House passed the bill last December, so it now heads to the president’s desk.

H.R. 2754, the Collectible Coin Protection Act, amends the Hobby Protection Act to make it illegal for someone to support anyone who counterfeits collectable coins. The House passed the bill in July so it now heads to the president’s desk for his signature.

H.R. 5050, the May 31, 1918 Act Repeal Act, grants the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of the Fort Hall Reservation the exclusive right of first refusal to purchase land offered for sale within the Fort Hall Townsite. The House passed the bill in December, meaning it heads to the president’s desk.

H.R. 5185, the EARLY Act Reauthorization, reauthorizes programs to educate young women about breast health through fiscal 2019. The House passed the bill last December, so it now heads to Obama’s desk.

S. 706, the Transnational Drug Trafficking Act, amends the Controlled Substances Import and Export Act to allow the Department of Justice to prosecute people who had reason to believe illegal drugs were being unlawfully imported into the United States or into waters within 12 miles of the U.S. coast. The bill now heads to the House for further action.

H.R. 4276, the Veterans Traumatic Brain Injury Care Improvement Act, extends a pilot program designed to help assisted living to veterans with traumatic brain injury. The House passed the bill in September, so it now heads to the president’s desk.

The Senate also passed seven bills naming U.S. post offices and other federal buildings.
