Senate sends bill to Obama ending benefits for Nazis

The Senate passed a bill Thursday that ends Social Security benefits for suspected Nazi war criminals.

{mosads}The measure passed through a unanimous consent agreement.

The House passed the No Social Security for Nazis Act, H.R. 5739, earlier this week on a 420-0 vote, meaning the bill now heads to President Obama’s desk for his signature before becoming law.

The legislation was in response to an Associated Press report that dozens of suspected Nazi war criminals who were forced to leave the U.S. collected millions of dollars in federal benefits.
