Wednesday: EPA regulations, nominations

House Republicans will continue their assault against EPA regulations, while the Senate considers nominations.

The House will vote on a bill, H.R. 4012, that would prevent the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from issuing new regulations unless it makes public the scientific data to justify them.

{mosads}Also on tap for the House are four bills to be considered under suspension of the rules, including a measure, H.R. 5448, to authorize appropriations for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and H.R. 3398, to authorize the State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development to provide assistance for women’s rights in developing countries.

The Senate starts at 9:30 a.m. 

After a bill to reform the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs failed to advance on Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) filed cloture on several judicial nominations. The Senate is expected to clear some of those nominations on Wednesday and Thursday.
