Thursday: Energy-Water approps, sportsmen’s bill, Donovan nomination to OMB
The House will continue consideration of the fiscal 2015 Energy-Water appropriations bill, while the Senate will consider the nomination of Shaun Donovan to lead the Office of Management and Budget.
The House Energy and Water appropriations bill is being considered under an open rule, which allows an unlimited number of amendments.
{mosads}On Wednesday, President Obama threatened to veto the bill because it includes measures that limit the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ability to regulate.
Final passage of the bill is expected Thursday evening.
The Senate starts at 10 a.m. and will vote at 2 p.m. on three of President Obama’s nominations — Shaun Donovan to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Douglas Silliman to be U.S. ambassador to Kuwait and Dana Smith to be U.S. ambassador to Qatar.
Senate leaders are also hoping to reach an agreement to vote on whether to end debate on a bipartisan sportsmen’s bill. It is unclear if Republicans will pull their support for the bill after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) filed cloture without any GOP amendments.
