Senate passes land trust bill for Pottawatomi Indians
The Senate passed a land use bill Thursday before adjourning for the weekend.
{mosads}Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) introduced S. 1603, the Gun Lake Trust Land Reaffirmation Act.
The bill allows the Secretary of the Interior to create a land trust for the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians.
The bill was passed through a unanimous consent agreement and now heads to the House for further action.
