Senate confirms US ambassador to Jordan
The Senate confirmed Alice Wells to be U.S. ambassador to Jordan on a voice-vote on Monday.
With conflicts in Syria and Iraq, Jordan has recently experienced a massive influx of immigrants.
{mosads}The Senate also voted to advance three of President Obama’s judicial nominees.
The Senate voted 55-37 to end debate on the nominations of Salvador Mendoza to be U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Washington, Staci Yandle to be U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Illinois, and Darrin Gayles to be U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Florida.
Final confirmation votes on all three will take place Tuesday morning.
