Wednesday: ObamaCare, No Child Left Behind
The Senate will debate its ObamaCare repeal package on Wednesday as lawmakers hope to wrap up their work this week.
The Senate formally moved to the reconciliation proposal on Tuesday evening, with the legislation getting 20 hours of debate.
{mosads}Republican leadership appeared confident that they would be able to get the 51 votes needed to clear the legislation through the upper chamber, despite concerns from moderate Republicans over including language that would cut federal funding for Planned Parenthood.
Meanwhile, House lawmakers are expected to take up the House-Senate compromise that would overhaul the Bush-era No Child Left Behind law. That legislation would shift more decision-making power back to state and local governments.
Votes in the House are expected between 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. and 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
