Tuesday: Iran vote

Senators are expected to again take a vote on a resolution disapproving the Iran nuclear deal, with Democrats expected to block the legislation for a second time.

The Senate will restart debate on the Iran deal at 1 p.m. and take a procedural vote on the resolution of disapproval at 6 p.m.

{mosads}Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) scheduled the vote late last week after Democrats blocked the resolution from moving forward in a 58-42 vote. Four Democrats bucked President Obama and voted with Republicans, but 60 votes were needed to overcome the procedural hurdle.

Republicans are pledging to keep the focus on Iran this week ahead of Thursday’s deadline to review and vote on the agreement.

The House is not in session on Tuesday.
