Thursday: No Child Left Behind fix, FDA

The Senate will continue its work Thursday on reforming the Bush-era No Child Left Behind law.  

Senators are expected to convene at 9:30 a.m., with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) saying Wednesday that votes on amendments to the Every Child Achieves Act could take place around 11:30 a.m. 
 
{mosads}Meanwhile, House lawmakers are expected to finish their work on an Interior appropriations bill. 
 
House lawmakers could also take up legislation that would reform the Forest Service’s management of federal forests, as well as a separate bill to streamline the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of new drugs and provide research funding for  the National Institutes of Health.
 
House lawmakers are expected to convene at 10 a.m. Votes in the House are expected between 3:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.
