Thursday: Trade, spending
House lawmakers will take a vote Thursday on a Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) proposal.
The TAA measure is tucked in a larger trade preferences bill, known as the African Growth and Opportunity Act.
{mosads}It’s the second time House lawmakers have voted on TAA, meant to help workers impacted by trade agreements. House Democrats previously blocked the bill, saying it was their best way to stall a separate fast-track trade bill.
House lawmakers are also expected to start work on the Interior Department appropriations bill.
Votes in the House are expected between 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., with final votes between 12:15 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.
The Senate is also in session on Thursday, but no votes are expected.
