Monday: Iran, nominations

House lawmakers will vote Monday on legislation calling on Iran to release three Americans currently being held in the country.

The House will convene at noon for morning hour, with votes on a handful of non-controversial bills—including the Iran resolution—expected around 6:30 p.m.

{mosads}Meanwhile, sentators are expected to convene at 2 p.m. for leader remarks and morning business. They’ll restart debate of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) around 3 p.m. Unless senators can reach an agreement, a procedural vote on the defense policy bill is expected on Tuesday.

The Senate is expected to vote at 5:30 p.m. on Matthew McGuire’s nomination to be the executive director of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Gentry Smith’s nomination to be the director of the Office of Foreign Missions, which would give him the rank of ambassador.
