Tuesday: War fund, appropriations
Senators are expected to vote Tuesday on changes to an annual defense bill.
The Senate will convene at 10 a.m. for leader remarks and morning business, before recessing from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. for weekly party meetings.
{mosads}Around 3 p.m., a vote is expected on Sen. Jack Reed’s (D-R.I.) amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would fence off $38 billion in extra war funding until lawmakers reach a deal on lifting the budget caps under sequestration.
No other votes are currently scheduled in the Senate for Tuesday, but lawmakers could line up more votes later in the day.
Meanwhile, the House convenes at noon for morning hour and 2 p.m. for legislative business.
House lawmakers are expected to finish up their work on the Transportation-Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill, as well as debate six non-controversial pieces of legislation.
Votes in the House are expected around 6:30 p.m.
