Monday: Financial services, nomination
Congress returns Monday afternoon after a weeks-long recess.
House lawmakers are expected to consider a handful of legislation on financial services, including a proposal that would require the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s advisory board meetings to be open to the public.
{mosads}Members will convene at 2 p.m. for legislative business, with votes postponed until 6:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Senate is expected to convene at 2 p.m. for leader remarks and morning business.
Around approximately 5:30 p.m., they’ll vote on Alfred Bennett’s nomination to be U.S. district judge for the Southern District of Texas.
