Monday: DHS funding
The Senate will vote for a fourth time on Monday to advance legislation to fund the Department of Homeland Security and freeze President Obama’s immigration actions, but the display is expected to fail just like the other three votes.
Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) will be recognized when the Senate convenes at 3 p.m. to deliver George Washington’s farewell address as part of an annual tradition. The chamber will adjourn until 4:30 p.m. once Hoeven finishes.
{mosads}At 5:30 p.m., the Senate will vote for the fourth time to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to the House-passed DHS funding bill. It is expected to fall short of the necessary 60 votes to advance.
Meanwhile, the House will not be in session again until Tuesday evening.
