Tuesday: State of the Union

President Obama’s State of the Union address will dominate Tuesday.

The House will convene at noon for morning hour debate and 2 p.m. for legislative business. The only item on the agenda is a resolution condemning the terror attacks in Paris earlier this month against satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo. No votes are expected.

{mosads}Meanwhile, the Senate will convene at 10 a.m. and recess from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. for the weekly party caucus luncheons. Votes on amendments to the bill approving the Keystone XL pipeline could come after the luncheons conclude.

The House chamber will recess by 5:30 p.m. for a security sweep ahead of the speech. At approximately 8:35 p.m., the House will reconvene for the State of the Union address, which will start at 9 p.m.
