{mosads}Earlier in the day, Republicans running the convention explained that while the nominating votes for Mitt Romney and running mate Ryan would take place Tuesday, their formal nomination and acceptance would take place on Thursday.
Romney secured the necessary 1,144 delegates shortly before Paul’s formal nomination. By the end of the count the Romney-Ryan ticket had 2,061 delegate votes.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) presided over the vote to nominate Ryan.
