House members debate naming post offices, attend WH party
The House will not hold roll call votes Monday evening to accommodate lawmakers attending the White House Christmas party.
Members kept a light floor schedule Monday afternoon. The only items on the schedule were a bill to provide relief for areas in California affected by prolonged drought and 12 measures to name federal buildings.
{mosads}A vote on the California drought bill will not take place until Tuesday.
The House was originally not scheduled to return this week until Tuesday, but GOP leadership shifted the schedule last month so that lawmakers would return a day earlier in part to meet the Dec. 11 deadline to keep the government funded.
