Dem wants transparency on House GOP lawsuit

Rep. Robert Brady (D-Pa.), the top Democrat on the House Administration Committee, demanded that House Republicans abide by “regular order” with their lawsuit against President Obama.

“I expect you will honor regular order through my committee, even with this highly irregular lawsuit,” Brady wrote in a Monday letter to House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).

{mosads}Brady asked Boehner to provide information on expenses associated with the lawsuit against the president for his use of executive action. He noted that the GOP case for the Defense of Marriage Act before the Supreme Court cost $2.3 million in taxpayer dollars.

“The American people deserve to know how and where their tax dollars are being spent, and House Administration Committee Democrats insist on regular consultation and transparency in the selection criteria and process, cost, and lobbying connections of any counsel or experts hired in the name of the House,” Brady wrote.
