House panels probe ObamaCare website security

House committees will investigate next week whether the ObamaCare health exchange website is secure.

HealthCare.gov launched on Oct. 1 and has experienced technical “glitches” ever since. President Obama has apologized for the website and said it would be up and fully running by the end of the month.

{mosads}Republican lawmakers have questioned whether it’s a good idea for Americans to enter their personal medical information in addition to their Social Security numbers into an online database. But few consumers have been able to successfully sign up for healthcare using the website.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee will host a hearing titled, “Security of HealthCare.gov” on Tuesday. On the same day, the House Science, Space and Technology Committee will have a hearing titled, “Is My Data on Healthcare.gov Secure?”
