House panels to hold hearings on immigration actions next week
Two House committees will conduct hearings next week on President Obama’s executive actions to shield certain illegal immigrants from deportation.
The House Judiciary Committee will convene Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. to hear from a panel of law professors and Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt. Also Wednesday, the House Oversight Committee will conduct a hearing on the Department of Homeland Security’s policies for apprehending and releasing illegal immigrants.
{mosads}Meanwhile, a House committee will commemorate nearly the one-year anniversary of the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 on Wednesday. The House Oversight Transportation and Public Assets Subcommittee will discuss establishing standardized regulations to track commercial airlines.
Yet another hearing slated for Wednesday will feature testimony from Secretary of State John Kerry as he testifies before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on the Obama administration’s budget requests for foreign policy priorities.
