FISA Courts Grant Unfettered Powers (Rep. Steve Cohen)

Yesterday was Constitution Day, thanks to a law passed by Senator Robert Byrd.  Although it is a day to specifically remember and recognize our most important legal document, indeed the very foundation of our government, every day is or should be Constitution Day for members of Congress.  During today’s hearing on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), it is important to recall that FISA courts, particularly, were created to protect our Fourth Amendment rights, not to give one branch of government unfettered powers.
