Our Nation’s Veterans Deserve Respect and Honor (Rep. Doug Lamborn)
Our veterans have upheld our nation’s sacred values of liberty and freedom before the world, and on this Veteran’s Day, I thank them for their service. Being a soldier demands immense sacrifice, whether it’s living away from loved ones and familiar places, enduring dangerous conditions, or being willing to give one’s life. Our nation’s soldiers were protecting America before this country was even founded. Today, our military is dispatched around the world to liberate the oppressed and provide them the freedom to stand on their own.
All our veterans deserve my best as an elected official. Back in Washington, I am continuing to support our troops now fighting in Iraq, and I will never waver from that position, no matter how unpopular it may be with those who control Capitol Hill. As the ranking member of the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee, I am working to make sure all veterans receive their benefits in a timely manner and to bring a new national cemetery to Colorado’s Fifth District to serve the more than 100,000 veterans who live here.
