The Democrats’ proposed No Child Left Behind bill fails our children, our parents, and our teachers. It simply doesn’t put education accountability or responsibility where it belongs: with the parents, teachers, and local officials who know our local schools and the children who attend them. Instead, it continues to allow federal bureaucrats to determine what’s best in classrooms thousands of miles from their desks. My bill, the LEARN Act, gives back control to the states allowing them to opt of the burdensome NCLB and return authority to the local community where it belongs.
