Sub-Par Care for Veterans Should Not Be Tolerated (Rep. Henry Brown)

One of the biggest challenges facing this country today is providing quality long-term care to a growing population of veterans. This challenge is amplified as we face the need to care for seriously injured veterans returning from the Global War on Terror. These soldiers are increasingly returning with severe injuries including the loss of limbs as well as the signature injuries of conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan: traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder. As our nation’s sons and daughters continue to fight against terrorism and other threats to our nation, it is critically important that our system for caring for and assisting our veterans be held to the highest standards. We cannot tolerate sub-par conditions and must constantly strive to provide the highest level of care for our veterans.
