Clinton Has Track Record to Make Change (Sen. Evan Bayh)
Today, millions of people across 24 states will make their voices heard in this presidential primary. Democrats have an unprecedented opportunity to choose between two candidates who would make history as either the first female or first African-American candidate to be nominated by our party.
This tight race reflects that Democrats are facing a tough choice: two exceptional candidates who would represent all Americans and fight to advance our ideals. Our candidates have never been stronger, and the stakes in a presidential campaign have never been higher.
Our next president must be ready from Day One to repair the damage of the last seven years. Our next President must be able to enact an agenda that will address the problems Americans face everyday: a broken health care system, the rising cost of higher education and the need for quality, well-paying jobs. Our next president must have the fortitude and the determination to see change through to the end and not waver in the face of obstacles.
In this election, Americans are hiring a president to lead our nation out of difficult times and into a brighter future. Who that person is will not be decided today. In the coming weeks, Democrats will continue to put our candidates to the test and ask them the tough questions about how they will bring about the changes to make real, tangible improvements to their daily lives.
When Democrats go to the polls, I believe they will choose that person who can make the changes our country needs and has the track record to prove it. I know that person is Senator Hillary Clinton.
