Rep. Jerry Weller (R-Ill.) apologized to constituents for missing Monday’s failed bailout vote, and indicated he will participate in Friday’s vote on the financial assistance legislation.
“In hindsight, missing votes over the past week was a mistake, and I apologize to my constituents for missing those votes,” Weller told the Southtown Star. The retiring congressman said he was in his district Monday tending a family medical issue, which he did not expand on.
“I think if you look over the last year, I’ve been very engaged in a number of projects,” Weller said, defending his engagement in the 110th Congress.
