Two ejected from House Dem’s town hall
Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) made it clear to the audience at her town hall that she would not tolerate disruptions like those that have occurred at other meetings around the country. Apparently, she meant business.
Two attendees who heckled the second-term congresswoman during her opening statement were ejected from the meeting; one forcibly so by police according to video from NewsNet5 in Cleveland.
“This is still my meeting,” Fudge said after the disruptions.
According to the report, Fudge heard from audience members who stood on both sides of the healthcare issue.
Fudge held her town hall at Case Western Reserve University in the city of Cleveland. The meeting was intended to be a state of the district address but the Ohio Democrat quickly focused on the health reform issue.
“We have been trying to fix health care for more than 60 years. And we are going to fix it,” she said at the beginning of the event.
