Report: Jenny Sanford to move out of Governor’s Mansion
The wife of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford (R) is moving with her children out of the state’s Governor’s Mansion.
Jenny Sanford made the announcement in a statement distributed via e-mail. The state’s First Couple had experienced marital issues ever since the governor announced he admitted to engaging in an affair with an Argentinian woman.
The State (S.C.) newspaper reported the move.
“It is with this support, and after much careful and prayerful consideration, that I have decided to move back to our home in Charleston with our sons for the upcoming school year,” Jenny Sanford said in her statement.
“From there, we will work to continue the process of healing our family,” she added.
Gov. Sanford rejected calls to resign following the affair, claiming that he could run the state while reconciling with his family.
