Broun Says Bailout Package ‘Stinks’
Many lawmakers have expressed their distaste for the assistance package to the U.S. financial industry during debate today in the House of Representatives, but Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) said the package “stinks”.
“This is a huge cow patty with a marshmallow stuck in the middle of it,” Broun said during Monday morning’s debate. Broun said he would be voting against the package during this afternoon’s vote, which is expected to take place between 12:00 and 12:30.
Many other conservatives have expressed their distaste for the legislation, including Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.), who likened the legislation to the fight over the first bank of the United States.
