A defiant Roland Burris on Wednesday defended his Senate seat from fresh calls for his resignation, blaming the media for his predicament and insisting his 30-year political career is unimpeachable.
Speaking at a downtown restaurant before the City Club of Chicago,
Burris (D-Ill.) also suggested that the recent focus over his appointment by former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) is unfairly distracting him from serving the state
