Porter takes gig at D.C. law firm
The revolving door continues spinning today as former Rep. Jon Porter (R-Nev.) announced that he is taking a job at Akerman Senterfitt, a lobbying and government affairs firm in D.C, the Las Vegas Sun reports.
Earlier Monday, we noted that former Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Ore.) has taken a job at Covington and Burling, a powerful D.C. law firm with a lobbying division.
Porter lost his bid for reelection to his 3rd District seat to Rep. Dina Titus (D) last November. Since then, though, his name has emerged as a potential challenger to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) in 2010.
