Foley Has Given First Interview Since Scandal

Former Congressman Mark Foley’s (R-Fla.) has given first major interview since the sex scandal that drove him from Congress to West Palm Beach’s WPTV, the station tells The Hill.

The 60-minute interview will be available tomorrow online some time after 12 a.m., the station says, and it will air tomorrow throughout the station’s newscasts.

Foley was previously rumored to be appearing on NBC’s “Today” show tomorrow. WPTV, an NBC affiliate, says it has no knowledge of a Foley interview with that show. NBC’s “Today” did not return an e-mail from The Hill last week inquiring about the rumor.

Foley left Congress in 2006 after the revelation that he had exchanged sexually graphic instant message communiques with former male congressional pages.
