Kennedy heading to Fenway

Reid Wilson writes that Joe Biden is not going to be the only high profile pol atop the mound on opening day Monday.

In what is sure to be a more emotional visit, sources told local media outlets that Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) would throw out the first pitch before the Boston Red Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday afternoon at Fenway Park.

Kennedy’s appearance is his first public visit outside the Senate since being diagnosed with a brain tumor last spring, aside from a surprise speech at the Democratic National Convention in August. The plans were first reported by the Boston Herald, which said Kennedy’s health could make an appearance uncertain.
